Is Zen Cart still worth running?
Zen Cart is an open-source PHP store platform that has been around for a long time. It is still updated by its community, but it has fewer developers, themes and add-ons than newer platforms, so we rarely suggest it for a brand new store. We work with businesses in Delhi and across India.
If your store already runs on Zen Cart and sells well, there is often no need to rush a change. Many stores just need the right fixes: moving to a supported Zen Cart release, making it work on the PHP version your host now uses, and closing security gaps.
When the store has been heavily patched or its add-ons are abandoned, moving to OpenCart, WooCommerce or a custom PHP store may cost less over time. We look at your store and tell you which route is cheaper to live with.

01Can you build a new store on Zen Cart?
We can, but for most new stores we suggest a platform with more add-ons and developers, such as WooCommerce or OpenCart. Zen Cart work is mostly about looking after stores that already exist.
02My store broke after the host updated PHP. Can you fix it?
This is one of the most common Zen Cart problems. Older code and add-ons often fail on newer PHP. We find what breaks, update it, and test the store on a copy before putting the fix live.
03Will I lose my orders and customers if I move platforms?
No. We move products, customers and order history to the new platform and check counts before and after. Customer passwords sometimes cannot carry over, in which case buyers reset them on first login.
04Will moving platforms hurt my Google rankings?
Any move carries some risk, which is why we map every old URL to its new one with 301 redirects and keep page titles and descriptions. Rankings can shift for a short time and usually settle once Google sees the redirects.
05How much does Zen Cart support or migration cost?
It depends on the state of the store and whether it needs fixes, an upgrade or a move. We send a fixed, written quote after a short call and a health check.
